This is the Project War Path version of a Betsy Ross flag shirt. Some people may not like this flag, but it is the original stars and stripes flag created in 1776 by Betsy Ross.
The flag was George Washington's design. George Washington said, "Let the 13 stars in a circle stand as a new constellation in the heavens", the stars were in a circle so all 13 colonies would be viewed as equal.
These Project War Path shirts are printed on 60/40 blanks, very high quality, and very comfortable.
The Continental Congress left no record to show why it chose the colors. However, in 1782, the Congress of the Confederation chose these same colors for the Great Seal of the United States and listed their meaning as follows:
- Red: Valor and hardiness
- White: Purity and innocence
- Blue: Vigilance, perseverance, and justice.
According to legend, George Washington interpreted the elements of the flag this way: the stars were taken from the sky, the red from the British colors, and the white stripes signified the secession from the home country, then Betsy Ross did her magic!
Thank you Betsy Ross!
